What’s In My Bag?

Happy Wednesday Beauties!

Spring is finally here and summer is just around the corner! For me, warmer months means wearing less makeup. Simply because I hate when my makeup runs because of sweat and then it ends up on everything I touch. I like to think of the warmer months as a time to let the skin, ”relax, relate, release”, in my best Whitley Gilbert voice.

Today I’m sharing with you 4 things in my makeup bag that will keep your makeup looking fresh for those days you need a quick touch up before you head out for any occasion. And guess what, you can find all 4 items at your local Dollar Tree!

• E.L.F Blush- Shy

• E.L.F Under Eye Concelear& Highlighter- Medium Glow

• Carmex- Classic Lip Balm Strawberry

• Cotton Rounds

These items are perfect for an on the go quick makeup touch up. The cotton rounds are great to blot the oiliness in your face. I have tried several brands of oil blotting towelettes, but I found that using a regular cotton round with no product on it gives the best results for my oily skin.

If you use foundation or BB cream, adding a little concealer under your eye when refreshing your makeup goes a long way! Especially with the E.L.F Under Eye Concelear& Highlighter, the highlighter cream on top of the concealer adds the perfect brightening boost. Finish the look off by adding E.L.F Blush- Shy and Carmex Lip Balm.

*Tip- I always moisturize my lips before applying lipstick and before I go to bed. Moisturizing the lips creates a smooth base for lipstick application. To kick it up a notch, apply a lip exfoliant and then the Carmex Lip Balm.

Stripes on Stripes

Happy Monday Beauties!

Today is all about the stripes! I must admit I am overly obsessed with stripes, especially black and white. It’s just something about those classic black and white stripes, with a bold, red lip that makes my heart melt.

Normally, I’m not the one to mix and match prints or wear a bold print on the top and bottom, unless it’s a one piece. For this look, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and go for it! And I’ll let you in on a little secret. This entire look was under $15! Yes, you read right under $15.

This entire look was thrifted! It’s been awhile since I’ve done some thrifting and even longer since I’ve done a thrift post. I’m not an expert or frequent thrifter but when I do thrift I always find some great pieces!

Horizontal and vertical stripes will definitely be on trend for spring/summer 2018. Both stripes have been seen in many fashion weeks, so expect to see more in store. Don’t be afraid to mix and match stripes, or pair stripes with solid, bold colors for spring/summer. To make your look pop, even more, go for a bolder lipstick with a neutral tone eyeshadow.

”Fashion is what you buy, Style is what you do with it.”

Black Radiance: Full Coverage or Light Coverage ?

Full coverage or Light coverage?

Either way, I have found the perfect brand for both. As for me, 90% of the time, I’m in full coverage makeup because I prefer the “made up” glam look on the regular. However, some early mornings and weekends you can catch me in light coverage mode with a very, natural look.

Black Radiance is definitely not new to the makeup scene. Their products are great quality and the prices are very affordable. The Black Radiance Primer can be used as a primer underneath your foundation or for a natural light coverage look. I purchased the primer in the shade natural nude both products were purchased from my local Walgreens.

*Here’s a quick tip: If you have blemishes and still desire a light coverage look simply take a concealer that is one shade lighter than the HD primer and apply to your blemishes. Lightly spray your beauty blender with water and pat the concealer into your skin. Don’t try to blend the concealer by rubbing it into your skin like you would do foundation. Simply pat the concealer into the skin. Then proceed to apply the HD primer.

The great thing about this product is that it’s 100% oil free! So for my oily girls, there’s no need to apply translucent powder to complete your natural look.

Now let’s get into the full coverage.

The color perfect liquid makeup blends and enhances the skin so well. Normally, I go for the matte wear foundations so I was a little nervous to give this a try , but it was perfect. I recently wore this foundation all day and didn’t have to retouch at all. The color perfect liquid foundation is also oil free like the primer.

*If you’re still concerned with experiencing some oiliness with this foundation, apply a translucent powder on top of the foundation. You can also apply a matte finishing spray along with the translucent powder to reduce oiliness.

It’s Bri Day!

Happy Wednesday and Happy Birthday to me! It’s only right, that in true blogger fashion, I share with you a few things I have learned along this journey to 27. I’m sure some would say, “oh your just a baby still”. While that may be true to ”some extent”, this journey has definitely taught me a lot !

So let’s get started:

1. Never be afraid to take a leap of FAITH!

Although I’m just 27, I wish I had this mentality 10 years ago! You know we have this cookie cutter dream of how we want our lifestyle to be and let’s face it, it doesn’t always happen that way. And it’s okay. Life has a way of coming full circle no matter what path we take. We can venture off, hit a dead end, climb a mountain and even fall down that mountain, and still make it to where we are destined to be! It’s all apart of God’s plan.

2. If not you, then who?

You know that gift/talent you been sitting on? You know the one where you short yourself by giving that ”discount”. The one that you find true joy in. Go and achieve that dream! Now, this is not for those who are comfortable with keeping their talent as a side hustle. This is for the ones who contemplate on a daily basis, what if? And this is definitely for me too. No, it won’t be easy to step into the unknown, but I l’m sure you will thank yourself later down the line. Plan and preparation is the key. Don’t hold off any longer! Your future is calling you.

3. Enjoy life and live it abundantly!

My goal for 2018 was to make a lifestyle change. Although you’ve heard me talk about keto on my Instagram. What I love about the keto, is that it’s a LIFESTYLE. Another way I’m living life abundantly is by finding the positive in every situation. No situation, person or anything should cause you your peace.

I could go on, but I won’t keep you beauties here all day. Plus, it’s time to get the b’day festivities started! Head over to my instastories to follow my eventful day!

Styling Like A Boss, Girl Boss That Is…

Every girl boss has their own signature work style. Some tend to think of a CEO, manager or any high power position when the words are said. However, you can be a girl boss in many ways, regardless of your work title.

My work style is fun but yet, business casual. While the majority of my time is spent at work during the week; I still like to have those transitional pieces that can go from the office to the weekend. This fun, flirty skirt gives me the business casual look I desire along with the fun.

There are two items every working woman should have in their closet and that’s a white button-down shirt and a great pair of heels. Now, let me be honest with you. I love my heels but by 1:30 pm, you’ll probably find me in a pair of cute flats. Unless it’s a chunky heel, now I can strut all day in a chunky heel.

A classic white button-down is a must-have wardrobe item. I would even go as far as to say, buy multiple! This staple piece is so easy to become a routine, so finding creative ways to reinvent the look is best to keep the look fresh. Pair the shirt with trousers, layer the look with a duster or vest, just to name a few.

I snagged this white button down shirt during an online bogo Forever21 sale. I purchased the shirt and a floral skirt, which I showed in my YouTube haul here, for $22.00. Not bad at all, right? You may also remember the skirt and shoes from my haul as well. All the items were on sale! The skirt is from Ashley Stewart and the shoes are from Charlotte Russe.

So, how do you conquer the day in your girl boss work style? I would love to hear how you slay your work attire. Clothing can easily affect the confidence level. Let your fashions communicate confidence in every way!

Xoxo Maxi Love

Happy Friday Beauties!

Today I’m bringing you another V-day look that won’t break the bank! Would you believe me if I told you this dress is under $25.00? Well, it is! Comfortable and cost friendly, is definitely a winner to me. This dress is perfect for an evening out with bae.

This dress is very long so I paired this dress with a classic black heel. The deep v- neck in this dress allows you to go as simple or dramatic as you would like with your necklace. I decided to keep it somewhat simple by adding one of my smaller statement necklace and a pair of stud earrings.

However you decide to style this red maxi dress; you can’t go wrong. Maxi dresses will always be my favorite because it’s an effortless slay. A plus to this dress is the stretch in this maxi. There’s nothing worst than being uncomfortable in your clothes, especially when your out on the town. Being comfortable in your clothes is essential to exuding true confidence.
